Henry F. Jerden Died Monday
Henry Fillmore Jerden died Monday, November 27, after a brief illness, at the home of his niece, Mrs. Henry Brooks, where he had made his home for the past three years. Funeral services were held Tuesday afternoon at 5 o'clock at the Brooks home with Bro. Elmer L'Roy officiating. Burial was in Oaklawn Cemetery under the direction of Delta Funeral Home. Pall bearers were Jesse McAlister, Custer Lemmond, Tom Cummings, Howard Barrett and Bill Stubblefield. Honorary pall bearers were Arthur Garrett, Newman Phillips, Dave Thomas, Charlie Henson and Ernest Hudnall.
Survivors include two sisters, Mrs. Emaline Trickey of Ardmore, Oklahoma, Mrs. Frances Dobbs of Colorado City, Texas, his niece, Mrs. Brooks, a nephew, J. P. Allen of Sulphur Springs and a number of other relatives.
Mr. Jerden was born in Mississippi, Dec. 6, 1856. He was never married, but lived around with his relatives. He united with the Church of Christ at Rotan in 1922.
