Gwynneth Doris Pressley Edwards, age 68, of Candler, NC formerly of the Cruso Community was born in Haywood County on Jun. 3, 1936 went home to be with her Lord and Savior after a courageous battle with Parkinson's disease on Friday, September 17, 2004.

She was the daughter of Ruby Rogers Pressley of Canton and the late Joseph Ernest Pressley. She was preceded in death by a brother, Billy Joe Pressley who died in 1980.

She retired from Silver Bluff Nursing Home in 1995 and was a member of Mountain View Church of God. During her lifetime, she served many years as a Sunday School teacher and church clerk.

In addition to her mother, she is survived by two daughters, two sons, a sister, four brothers and nine grandchildren.

Funeral services were held at the Mountain View Church of God. Burial followed at Gwyn Cemetery in Cruso.
