MRS. EVA M. DUNHAM HONERED RESIDENT.
After nearly a year's illness of inward paralysis, Mrs. Eva M. Dunham, who has been a resident of Waterloo for the past 30 years, died Sunday morning at 10 o'clock at her home, 427 Clay street.
Her condition had been more serious during the past three weeks and her death was not unexpected. The end will, however, bring sadness to many hearts as she was a loving and devoted mother and a kind neighbor and friend.
Eva Mary Phillips was born near Saratoga, N.Y., Dec. 1, 1858. Her parents moved to Iowa when she was 7 years old and settled on a farm near Jesup, where she lived until her marriage, thirty years ago. Except for four years at Centralia, Ill., her whole married life was spent here. She was a member of Grace M. E. church and took an active interest in the church work until ill health prevented. She is survived by her daughter, Mary who is at home, and one son, D. F., who resides in Los Angeles, Cal., and her brother, H. C. Phillips, who resides at Rockford, Ill.
This is the fourth death in the family within the past nine months. Mrs. George Dunham was her sister, Joseph Dunham, her father-in-law, and a cousin, Mrs. Thomas Dunham, died in Boston.
The funeral will be held tomorrow morning at 9 o'clock at the home, Rev. T. M. Evans, district superintendent, will conduct the services as Rev. E. D. Hull, pastor of Grace M. E. church, is absent from the city. The body will be taken to Barclay cemetery for burial at the side of her parents and her baby, who died in infancy.
