EVELYN BOWERMAN
MENDON - Mrs. Evelyn Bowerman, 65, 126 N. Railroad St, Mendon, died Saturday afternoon in Bronson Hospital, Kalamazoo. She had been in failing health a year. Mrs. Bowerman was born in Mendon Feb. 10, 1911, a daughter of Burt and Nellie (McClish) Moore. She attended Mendon School. On Sept. 22, 1927, she was married to Seth Bowerman, in LaGrange, Ind. They made their home in Homer, Bronson and Colon. Mr. Bowerman died Jan. 27, 1955. Mrs Bowerman has made her home in Mendon since 1956.
She was employed at Lamb Knit Goods in Colon and Transogram in Sturgis.
Surviving are a son, Larry Bowerman, Kalamazoo; a daughter, Mrs. Eugene (Linda) Ettinger, Mendon; three grandchildren; three sisters, Mrs. Charles (Katherine) Batten and Mrs. Norma Batten, both of Mendon, and Mrs Clarence (Mary) Foster, Jenison; three stepbrothers, Clarence Helwig, East LeRoy; Harold Helwig, Berkeley, Calif., and Roland Helwig, Portage; two step-sisters, Mrs. Gladys McClish, Mendon and Mrs Loretta Galbreath, Kalamazoo.
Friends may call at the Eickhoff Funeral Home in Mendon, where services will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday, with the Rev. William Dobbs, pastor of the West Mendon United Methodist Church, officiating.
Burial will take place in Mendon Cemetery.
Memorials may be directed to the Cancer Fund.
