Age: 74 yrs; 2nd son of Harvey & Myra (Osborne) Putnam; married Miss Caroline McCray. John was an Attica merchant until taking the position as head cashier of the Hannibal & St. Joe Railroad Co. in Hannibal, MO. while his family resided in Attica. About the mid 1880's he removed his family to Minneapolis, Minnesota. While a resident of Attica he was deeply involved in the organization of Forest Hill Cemetery and the building of the Presyterian brick church.
