Graydon Belvin "Bear" Grinnell, 87, of Virginia's Country Manor in Lauderhill, entered peacefully into eternal life on Sunday, October 12th. He was visited by his many friends, and supported by the loving staffs of Virginia's Country Manor, Heritage Home Care and Vitas Hospice. Born in Philadelphia, PA, Graydon spent much of his young life in Key West, where legend has it, he was named after an engineer of The Florida East Coast Railway. It is also said that, his grandmother wrote the first Key Lime Pie recipe from her pie shop in Key West. He attended The University of Florida when it was an all male college and enlisted to serve his country honorably in the U.S. Navy during WWII. He joins his wife, Ann of 46 years, and his son, Terry. He is survived by his goddaughter, Melinda Mayerat and her husband, Steve Mayerat, and by his many friends he has made over the years. Graydon was a true gentleman, always positive, and made everyone smile. We will miss the many stories of adventures of his life. We love you Bear, see you later, my friend. Services will be held at Lauderdale Memorial Park Cemetery on Wednesday, October 15th at 10:00 AM, 2001 SW 4th Ave., 33315, and a celebration of his life will be on Saturday, October 18th, 2:00 PM at Virginia's Country Manor.
