Alice H. Quick

Angels rejoiced for the arrival of Alice Hertha Quick, 83, on June 15, 2010. She died at Bethany Homes in Fargo, under the care of Hospice of the Red River Valley. Alice was born July 14, 1926 to Nick and Hertha (Folvig) Iverson, in Garske, ND. She attended school in the Starkweather, ND area. She married Harold D. Quick on January 1, 1946. Alice and Harold were equal partners in every aspect of their 53 year marriage. They co-owned and operated all of their businesses. In Starkweather, they owned a Variety Store, farmed, and operated "Quick's Fairway Grocery." They were respected members of the Starkweather community for years. Alice also worked as a bookkeeper, sales associate, apartment manager, homemaker, meticulous housekeeper, and raised three children. Her and Harold retired in 1979, moved to Grand Forks, Devils Lake, and eventually settled in Fargo.

One of Alice's hobbies was playing Zelda on Gameboy and Nintendo64. Her family asked her for tips on winning the game. Alice was a talented cook, famous for her homemade hot chocolate ice cream topping. Other favorite dishes include Scalloped Potatoes, Klub, Lefse, and Swedish Meatballs. In her spare time she enjoyed knitting, sewing, crossword puzzles, bowling, and dancing. She even crocheted an afghan for everyone in her family. Alice enjoyed games such as Bridge, Solitaire, and was a skilled Rook player.

She is survived and will be missed by her children Lance (Donna) of Mankato, MN, Bruce (Robbie) of Fargo, ND, and Debra (David) Quick-Brusca of St. Louis, MO; grandchildren Adam (Marit) of Minneapolis, MN, Sarah of Mankato, MN, Emily of Minneapolis, MN, Robert of Bismarck, ND, Mitchell of Boise, ID, Anna Danielle of Fargo, ND, and Blair Niewoehner of Springfield, MO; along with many nieces and nephews.
