Owner of Lick Plantation, the stone plantation house of which is still standing in Bedington, north of Martinsburg, WV. Peter Light performed non-military service in the Revolutionary War by supplying wheat and beef to the Army.

Peter Light married Nancy Ann Weaver about 1750 in Lancaster County, Pennsylvania. Nancy died in 1829 in Berkeley County, but her gravesite is unknown.
