Wheras it has pleased all all wise providence to call from our ranks our esteemed comrade James E. Sulivan as a recruit to the Grand Army of those who have passed from labor to reward. Therefore be it resolved that in the death of comrade Sulivan we have lost a noble patriotic and worthy soldier and citizen. His children a kind and loving father, His neighbors a worthy and charitable neighbor and friend.

Comrade Sulivan was a charter member of Andy Martin Post No.259 of Mo. G.A.R. The one who gave the post its name in 1885 has been consistant and worthy member until the day of his death. Comerade Sulivan was borned in Jackson Co, Ind., July 29, 1831 and died at Ava, Mo. Aug. 6th 1909. Removed from Indiana to Missouri in 1857. Served through the war of Rebelion in Co. H. 46 Vol. Inft. He was layed to rest in Huffman Cemetery by the post of which he was so long a member with imposing ceremonies amidst a large concourse of mourning friends.

Be it further resolved that a copy of these resolutions be spread upon the records of the Post and that a copy be furnished each of the county papers.
