Mr. Everett was born in Union County, Georgia, on Sunday, October 20, 1918, a son of the late John Everett and Rebecca Galloway Everett. He was a veteran of the U.s. Marine Corp, and served during WWII. Mr. Everett was a retired truck driver, and had lived in Cobb County for the past 38 years. He was a member of Calvary Baptist Church of Powder Springs.
Survivors include his wife, Nina Ree Jones Everett, of Powder Springs, Georgia, sons: Donald Everett and Arlene Everett, both of Marietta; Terry Everett of Kennesaw, Jerry Everett of Hiawassee; daughters: Helen Smith, of Snowcap, NC; Shirley Stockton, of Marietta; Doris Kidd, of Smyrna, GA., and Becky McClain, of Powder Springs, GA; sister, Myrtle Mason, of Blairsville; 19 grandchildren, 18 great grandchildren, and one great great grandchild also survive, along with many friends and other relatives.
Funeral services were held at the Chapel of Cochran Funeral Home of Blairsville, with Rev. Tommy Jones and Rev. Horace Potts officiating. Special music was presented by Ken and Elaine Young. The following gentlemen served as pallbearers: Rob Stockton, B .J. Kidd, Adam Everett, Chris Everett, Eric Mitchell, and Kenny Smith. Interment was in Kennesaw Memorial Cemetery in Marietta. Cochran Funeral Home of Blairsville in charge of arrangements.
