Albert Moors Farwell, a well known citizen of Roaring Rver Township, died at his home near Eagle Rock, Saturday afternoon, April 13, of gall stones and stomach trouble. On Monday, April 8, Mr. Farwell had attended the Republican Barry County convention in Cassville as a delegate, on Tuesday night he was suddenly taken seriously ill.
Mr. Farwell was well known over the county and was a successful farmer. For many years he has been a prominent citizen of Roaring River Township. He was born in Illinois in 1852. The family moved to this county in 1857. He has been twice married and leaves a widow and three children from the first marriage to Mary Ann Gray on February 25, 1877 in Lawrence County, Missouri, and seven from the last marriage to Eliza Jane Pyatt on December 28, 1852 in Barry County, Missouri. He was a brother of Wilder Farwell near Cassville and of Otis Farwell of the Roach District.
He was a man of strong convictions and never hesitated to express his views upon any question which came up. He was always a man of his word, of unquestioned integrity and stability of character. He always took an active and leading part in every movement for the progress of this county and community. His sudden death was a great shock to his large family and to his many friends all over the county. Funeral services were held Sunday and his body interred in the Farwell Cemetery on White River.
