Charles Baddour of Hernando, Miss., retired chairman of the board of Baddour Inc., now Fred's Inc., died Saturday at his home. He was 76. Services will be at 11 a.m. today at Whitehaven Presbyterian Church, with burial in Forest Hill Cemetery Midtown. Memphis Funeral Home Poplar Chapel has charge. Mr. Baddour was one of the the founders of the discount stores in 1948. He retired several years ago. He was a member of Whitehaven Presbyterian Church. He was a World War II veteran. Mr. Baddour, the widower of Oneida Baddour, leaves a daughter, Marilyn Aaron of Hernando; a son, Fred Baddour of Germantown; two sisters, Marie Albertson of West Memphis and Rose Saleeby of Saulsbury, N.C., six grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. The family requests any memorials be sent to Le Bonheur Children's Medical Center Diabetes Research or University of Tennessee Diabetes Research. (Published in The Commercial Appeal 3/2/1992)
