Evelyn Trussell Fulps, 97, passed away peacefully Sunday, June 27, 2010. Funeral: 1:30 p.m. Wednesday in Mount Olivet Chapel. Interment: Mount Olivet Cemetery. Evelyn was born Aug. 3, 1912, to George and Lizzie Trussell of Boyd. After graduation from Boyd High School, she married Lewis H. Fulps. She attended Brantley Draughon Business College to complete her education. Evelyn began her career with the Fort Worth Police Department after the death of her husband. She retired after 30 years of service. Evelyn enjoyed teaching children in Sunday school, singing in the church choir and playing the piano for her adult Sunday school class. She was a member of First United Methodist Church in Fort Worth. Evelyn will be remembered for her courageous spirit and her determination to remain independent and self-sufficient. Nothing brought her greater happiness than being with family. She will be dearly missed by those who loved her. Evelyn was preceded in death by her husband, Lewis Fulps; three sisters; two stepsisters; and great-grandson, Cody Creecy. Survivors: Left to cherish her memory are her daughter, Joyce Creecy; grandsons and their spouses, Jimmy and Mary Creecy, Jerral and Phyllis Creecy, Jerry and Toni Creecy, John Creecy and Janice Hartrick, and Jeff and Lisa Creecy; 13 great-grandchildren; three stepgreat-grandchildren; two great-great-grandsons; sister, Wynell Byrom and husband, Dub; and nieces, nephews and extended family.
