Victim of a double murder: "Ronald and his older brother Earl," Murdered by a 17 year old neighborhood friend.

Ronald Taylor age 11, and his brother Earl Taylor 15, were shot to death only a short distance from their home in East Stearns about 10:00 o'clock Saturday morning. The 17 year old reported the tragedy and gave himself up to a special patrolman within a few minutes after the deed was done. He stated that he had just killed two boys.

Ronald and Earl were the sons of Mr and Mrs Coy ( Cloy ) Taylor, who live across the Southern Railway tracks about a mile and a half from downtown Stearns. The father was attending a Baptist Association meeting at Eagle church at the time, and Mrs Taylor was at home.

The 3 boys had gone target shooting in the nearby woods. Later in a scuffle over the rifle, Earl was accidently shot and ran from the scene screaming, the 17 year old followed Earl, and in a state of fear, shot him several times more. The he returned to shoot the younger brother Ronald who was hiding behind a large rock, crying.

Earl was shot 7 times, Ronald was shot 4.

Verdict: Life In Prison
