Tampa - Carl E. Bland, 83, passed away peacefully on Sunday morning, June 27, 2010 from complications of Alzheimer's Disease. He was is the care of Hospice along with Robert and Eleanor Schilling his close friends and caregivers. He was born in Alma, GA and grew up in Marion County, FL. He spent 2 years in the Army infantry during the Korean Conflict He retired in 1994 from B&B Cash Grocery Stores in Tampa as an employee of 44 years in the refrigeration industry. He was a deacon of Faith Primitive Baptist Church in Ocala where he had been a member since 1965. He was married to Dora Lee Dease from 1952 until her passing in 1995 and married to Cressie Spencer from 1999 until her passing in 2009. Survivors include one son, Roger and wife Jennifer of Seffner, his brother, M. J. Bland of Middleburg and his 2 grandchildren, Carla Johns (husband Anthony) of Allendale, MI and Jason Bland of Brandon and 2 great grandchildren, Hunter and Austin Johns of Allendale, Ml. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, June 30, 2010 at 2:00 P.M. at Hiers-Baxley Funeral Services, 910 E. Silver Springs Blvd., Ocala. Visitation will be on Tuesday from 5-7 PM. Interment will be at Highland Memorial Park.
