Lewis David Nichols Jr., 70, of Washington, died at 10:27 p.m. Friday, Jul. 20, 2007, in the Washington Hospital emergency room.

He was born Sep. 17, 1936, in Washington, a son of Lewis D. Sr. and Ida Beverina Nichols. Mr. Nichols graduated from Trinity High School and was employed as a millwright at Jessop Steel for 39 years.

He was Catholic. An avid golfer, he also enjoyed playing cards and spending time with his family.

In Jun. 1955, he married Jean Kilgore, who died Apr. 2, 1991.

Surviving are a son, David Nichols of Pittsburgh; two daughters, Carla (Richard) Ricker of West Palm Beach, Fla., and Ronda (Randy) Corso of Washington; two sisters, Carolyn Celani and Joyce Novak, both of Washington; five grandchildren, Eric and David Ricker, Kirsten Perez, Lindsy Ricker and Sylvio Corso; and seven great-grandchildren.

Friends will be received from 7 to 9 p.m. Monday, and 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday in William G. Neal Funeral Homes Ltd., 925 Allison Ave., Washington, where a blessing service will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday, Jul. 25, with the Rev. Thomas D. O'Neil officiating. Entombment will follow in Forest Lawn Gardens Cemetery, McMurray.
