Rose came to the U.S. in 1911 with her mother Tiebe, and they settled in Syracuse NY. They moved to Buffalo in the early 1930s. After Tiebe's death, Rose moved to Los Angeles in the late 1930s. She was an apartment house manager in L.A. In the 1950s, she bought a rental property in Santa Monica, where she was the onsite manager.

Rose was very active in the Pioneer Women, founded by Golda Meir, which was also known as Women's Labor Zionist Organization. It is now known as NA'AMAT USA, a Hebrew acronym for "Working Women and Volunteers." It is one of the largest Jewish women's organizations worldwide.
