LaVern Dwight Tilton, son of Frank and Delia Saum Tilton, was born November 24, 1916, at Filley, Nebr., and died March 28, 1993, at Asbury Hospital in Salina, at the age of 76 years, four months and four days.
He was united in marriage to Margie Fay Willis, April 21, 1940, and this home was blessed with one son.
They moved back to Belleville in 1978 after retiring as service manager for General Motors Corporation.
He attended the Nazarene Church. He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, Ardith Lyle and Loren Eugene; one sister, Deloris Irene Austin.
He is survived by his wife, Margie Tilton of Belleville; one son, Curtis Dwight Tilton of Canyon Country, Calif.; four brothers, DeVer Tilton of Filley, Nebr., Dean Tilton of Albuquerque, N.M., Lorraine Tilton and Arlin Tilton of Beatrice, Nebr.; three sisters, Audrey Dell of Longmont, Colo., Evelyn Lueders of Gretna, Nebr., Marjorie Mauzev of Lakeside, Calif.; one granddaughter, Sara Mariah of Canyon Country, Calif.
Graveside services were held April 1 at the Filley, Nebr. Cemetery, conducted by Rev. Irene Coates.
