Services for Bud Ernest Burgess, 79, will be held at 2 p.m. today in the chapel of Hooper and Huddleston Funeral Home with Arkley Billingsley and Don Johnson officiating. Burial will be in the Cookeville Cemetery.
Mr. Burgess, a resident of 505 Denton Ave., in Cookeville, died Monday, Nov. 14 in Cookeville General Hospital, after an extended illness.
A native of Jackson County, he was the son of the late Jim and Vina Lou Taylor Burgess. He retired after 24 years as a janitor at McMurry Roberson's.
He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Ova Johnson Burgess of Cookeville; two granddaughters, Patricia Zappanti and Catherine Clark; three great grandchildren, Nicole Zappanti, Chris Zappanti and Joel Clark; and a number of nieces and nephews.
