Arminda Spraker was born five miles north of Greensburg, Decatur County, Indiana on February 17, 1845. After her mother's death in 1859, the farm of 160 acres in Decatur County was sold and all the children moved to Howard County except Arminda and the youngest brother, Lewis. They made their home with Ant Anna Jones until 1864, when Arminda went to Augustus Miller's in Rush County, Indiana. It was there she married to William C. Boling June 1, 1865. Their first two children, Celia May and John Trees were born while they lived in Rush County. Arminda and William then moved to Illinois in 1869 where they had five more children, Adda Bell, Gordon Emery, Erastus Homer, Gertrude, and Ava Myrtle. They spent most of their lives in and around Windsor, Shelby County, Illinois, where he was a farmer and stock buyer until he died a victim of tuberculosis in 1898, Arminda preceded him in death in 1894.
