Leutellus enlisted on March 3, 1901 into Co. E, 5th Regiment, US Army and saw duty in the Philippines.
At the time of his enlistment he was described as 5'9", fair complexion, having blue eyes and light brown hair.
He was discharged in Plattsburgh NY and on May 5, 1905 married Anna Gardinier in New York City.
He worked for the railroad and as a carpenter but in July 1930 he hospitalized and diagnosed as having Tuberculosis.
He died in Albany Co. Sanitorium. He left no heirs.
