William L. (Bill) Quinn, Sr. was born on April 11, 1910 in Kendall township, the son of Owen and Catherine Donahoe-Quinn. His three brothers, James, Eugene and Edward Quinn; and his sister, Bernice Mevissen, all preceded Bill in death.

Bill married Lauretta F. McKillip in June of 1942 at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Truman. Bill and Lauretta were blessed with 9 wonderful children: Ron Quinn, Darlington; Jerry (Doris) Quinn, Rockford, Ill., Bill (Anna) Quinn Jr., Madison, Wis., Judy (Lee) Zurfluh, Argyle, Wis., John (Deb) Quinn, Roscoe, Ill., Tom (Joanne) Quinn, Roscoe, Ill., Larry Quinn, Darlington, Mary (Donald) Allendorf, Shullsburg, Dick (Cinda) Quinn, Darlington.

Bill was also blessed with 14 grandchildren: Audrey, Casey and Brittany Quinn; Mike and Mark Quinn; Meghan and Keegan Quinn; Jim, Michelle and Susan Zurfluh; Sarah Quinn; Adam and Angie Allendorf; and Brianna Quinn.

After 40 years together, Lauretta preceded Bill in death on Nobember 14, 1982.

Bill worked with Lafayette County Highway Maintenance Dept. and then worked for Eagle Picher Mines in Shullsburg for 15 years. He then worked in maintenance at Memorial Hospital of Lafayette county, until retiring in 1979. Bill enjoyed wooddworking and his family and spent retirement enjoying both.

Bill was a genuinely nice person, who will be lovingly remembered for his devotion to his family, his enduring wit and his unwavering faith.
