Clarence Richard "Dick" Abbott, 68, of Fort Payne passed away Friday, June 25, 2010. He was born Oct. 31, 1941 to the late Lucian and Dorothy Tidmore Abbott. Mr. Abbott graduated in 1960 from Fort Payne High School and later attended the University of Alabama where he was a member of Theta XI fraternity. He was a past member of the Fort Payne City Board of Education. He was a member of First Baptist Church of Fort Payne. He was the owner of Abbott Marine for over 48 years where he shared his love of fishing with others. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and brother.Funeral services will be Sunday, June 27, 2010 at 2 p.m. at Wilson Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Billy Hudgins officiating. Burial will follow in Glenwood Cemetery. The family will receive friends Saturday from 5-8 p.m. The family requests in lieu of flowers, memorial contributions be made to American Diabetes Association.He is survived by his wife of 46 years, Kay Trussell Abbott; sister and brother-in-law, Pat and Don Eberhart; son and daughter-in-law, Allan and Lori Abbott; daughters, Anna Abbott Walchli and Abby Abbott; grandchildren, Brady, Will and Fisher Abbott, Sarah Kay Lowman, Carter and Emma Walchli, Morgan Gable and Malyna Pointer; mother-in-law, Lynette Trussell; nephew, John and Linda Stiefel; niece, Leigh Stiefel; great-nephew, Jacob Stiefel; and great-niece, Amanda Stiefel Wells.Serving as pallbearers will be Terry Dobbs, Tom McLemore, Jacob Stiefel, Travis Smith, John Stiefel, and T.J.
