Clark- John R. Clark, 84, a former resident of Independence died yesterday at the Odd Fellows hospital in Liberty where he had been a patient four years. Mr. Clark moved to Jackson county about 1921 from Richmond, Mo. He operated grocery stores in Independence and Kansas City until he retired in 1939. The stores were on South Fuller and on twenty-fourth in Independence, on Golf in the Intercity district and at fifteen terrace and Bennington. He previously operated a store in Richmond. Mr. Clark was born in Brownstown, Ill. He was a member of the Reorganized Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints church and the Chosen Friends lodge of the Independent Order of Odd Fellows. Surviving are a daughter, Mrs. Orville Wright, 1512 Belmont Avenue, two sons, Warrant Officer James R Clark, Westerfield, N. J. and Sergt Harold P Clark, air force, Far East, and a sister, Mrs. Nettie Robinson, St. Joseph, Mo. Services will be held at 11 o'clock Saturday in Independence at the Carson Chapel, and at 2 o'clock at the graveside in Sunny Slope Cemetery, Richmond.
