Fred was a blacksmith by trade but had a wonderlust that moved him all over Texas and Arizona and of his 12 children no two were born in the same city. He had one son Leroy (1931-1931) who burial place is unknown but he was born in Phoenix, Arizona; shortly after a failed attempt at homesteading in Dendora Valley, Arizona where his family lived in an Adobe building that had once been a stage stop in that area. From there his family moved to Phoenix where he lived until his death.
