Bryan was born in Hazleton, Pa, the son of Robert M. and Carol A. (DeMatt) Hoppy.
He was employed as an operator by Bell of Pennsylvania, Hazleton, and was a second-year student at Luzerne County Community College. He was a member of St. Mary's B.C. Church, Hazleton, and the Hazleton Heights Volunteer Fire Co. No. 4.
Surviving, in addition to his parents, are his maternal grandparents, Robert and Carmella DeMatt, Hazleton; paternal grandmother, Margaret Hoppy, Hazleton Heights; and a brother, Jason Hoppy, who is a student and basketball player at the University of Scranton.
Preceding him in death was his paternal grandfather, Stephen Hoppy Sr.
The funeral was held at the Moran Funeral Home, 229 W. 12th St. The Requiem Divine Liturgy was celebrated in St. Mary's B.C. Church.
Interment in Calvary Cemetery, Drums.
