Norma Lee Conner, age 86 of Rockwall, TX, passed away March 19, 2010. She was born July 5, 1923, in Tecumseh, OK, the 5th of 6 children born to Jim and Addie (Wilson) Ward. All have preceded her in death as well as her beloved husband Leo A. Conner and grandson Christopher Michael Conner. She married Leo in Apache, OK, on Halloween night when he was on leave from the U.S. Army, and she said when he came home for good after WWII was the happiest time of her life. They made many friends in Texas at each place they lived, including Brownsville (1947-1957), Andrews (1957-1983), Granbury (1983-2003) and Rockwall (2003-2010). Norma will be dearly missed by all whose lives she touched.
Norma is survived by sons: Mike Conner and wife Sharon of Oklahoma City, OK, and Rick Conner and wife Ginger of Bayfield, CO; daughter: Cherry Conner of Rockwall, TX; grandchildren: Jason, Joshua, Kari, Steve, Jason, Amanda, Sarah, Seth and Kacy; great-grandchildren: Max, Luke, Leo, Bree, Mehgan, Bailee, Skylee, Michael, John Michael, McKinsey, Taylor and Lola.
Funeral services will be held 4:00pm Tuesday, March 23, 2010, at Rest Haven Funeral Home-Rockwall Chapel with Pastor Scott Holcomb-McLain officiating. The family will receive friends before the service beginning at 3:00pm. Graveside services will be held 2:00pm Wednesday, March 24, 2010, at Holdenville Cemetery in Holdenville, OK, with Dr. Mark Green officiating.
