Camp Point, Ill., June 1--- Joseph Beckett, a prominent farmer living three miles northeast of Camp Point, died suddenly this morning at his home. While he had suffered from heart trouble and had been under the care of a physician, his condition was not considered serious and his death comes as a shock to his relatives and friends. He is survived by his widow and seven children. Miss Elizabeth at home; John, Rezin, Mrs. Jessie Davis, all living in the vicinity of Camp Point; Mrs. Delia Thompson Lynns of Golden, now of Yuma, Colo., and also one brother, George Beckett of Golden and 20 grandchildren. Mr. Beckett was born on a farm near Camp Point on January 31, 1847, being the son of Joseph and Elizabeth Beckett, he lived there until his marriage in February, 1867 to Miss Charlotte Robison (Robertson). Mr. and Mrs. Beckett celebrated their golden wedding anniversary this year with a big family gathering. The decedent was a member of the Methodist church at Hebron near Camp Point.
