Although stone says Margaret E, the 1860, 1880, & 1900 census say Margaret H; E., on stone, probably represents her maiden name. She m. Nathaniel Sample Dennis, 6 Aug 1856, Knoxville, Knox, IL.

Mr. and Mrs. Nathaniel Dennis of Knoxville, Celebrate Sixtieth
Anniversary Monday—-

Special to the MAIL:

Mr. and Mrs. Nathaniel (Margaret) Dennis of Knoxville, celebrated the Sixtieth Anniversary of their marriage at their home on Lane street. on Monday.

They were married at the home of the brides parents, near Maquon, on August 7th.; by Squire Godfrey, now deceased.

They spent their lives together on a farm until three years ago; when their children remembering the hardships they had endured for them; purchased and presented to their parents a beautiful little home on Lane street; where they are now spending their declining years in peace and comfort.

Mr. Dennis although, eighty-three years of age, is in good health; keeping his garden and lawn in fine shape. He is in possession of all his faculties; excepting that his hearing is a little dull.

Mrs. Dennis has reached the age of seventy- seven years and is enjoying excellent health.

They are spending their declining years with friends and relatives.

Both are members of the M. E. Church of Knoxville; having been faithful and continuing members of this organization for sixty- two years.

Twelve children were born to Mr. and Mrs. Dennis; the youngest, dying in infancy. Their sons Joe and Charles, departed this life at about the age of forty years. They have twenty- seven…..
