Leonard J. Jumper, 75, of Hobart, passed away suddenly on Friday, July 2, 2010 in the Elkview General Hospital, Hobart, OK. He was born January 9, 1935 in Harden City, Pontotoc County, OK to Homer and Dora (Cradduck) Jumper.
Leonard graduated from McLish High School in Fittstown, OK and attended East Texas State University in Commerce, TX. He was a well know saddle maker and leather crafter for fifty five years. He married Carol Ann Rutherford November 11, 1956 and Teresa Rodgers April 2, 1983. Leonard married Carol McAllister September 16, 1997 in Vernon, TX. He was a member of the Hobart Baptist Temple, Hobart Riding Club and American Quarter Horse Association.
Survivors include his wife, Carol of the home; three sons: Kevin Jumper and wife Laurie Dawn, Geary, OK, Shane Jumper and wife Anita, Abilene, TX, & Marvin Shaw and wife Blaine, Altus, OK; two daughters: Anita Leveridge, Cashion, OK, Andra Iafrate and husband Gary, Brownwood, TX; 9 grandchildren: Anthony Issac Jumper, Amanda Carl Beutler, James Andrew Iafrate, Robert Tyler Leveridge, America Madelon Iafrate, Augustus McCrae Jumper and Leah Ann Jumper, John Colton Jumper and Logan Lane Jumper; 1 great-granddaughter, Addison Marie Jumper; step children: Linda and Dennis Arcamone, NJ, Patty and Andrew Morrissey, NJ, Martin Beckman Jr., NJ, Donna and Anthony Scandiffio, NJ, Beth and Mike Mara, NJ; 7 step-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Homer and Dora Jumper and brother Harlan.
