Mr. Thompson was born July 29, 1924, in Jeannette, Pennsylvania, and the family moved to Virginia two years later. He was the son of the late Aubrey Chester Thompson and Iva Luella Keim Thompson and was married to the late Juanita Johnson Thompson. Mr. Thompson was a U.S. Army veteran having served in WWII. He served on the Front Royal Police Force for more than 25 years, rising from the rank of patrolman to the Chief of Police. After leaving the Front Royal Police Force, he worked ten years for Rokeby Farm in security. He was a deacon and taught a Sunday school class at Marlow Heights Baptist Church for over 14 years, as well as serving in other positions.
He is survived by three children Dennis Duane Thompson and his wife Rebecca of Warrenton, Mark Thompson and his wife Patricia of Rileyville, and Pamela Wilson and her husband Harvey of Richmond; five grandchildren Scott Thompson, Stephanie Thompson Ryan, Mara Thompson, Brian Wilson, and Benjamin Wilson; and three great-grandchildren Kaylee Wilson, Chloe Wilson, and Paige Ryan. Along with his parents and wife, he was predeceased by a sister Cordelia "Dinks" Manuel.
