Joseph Beatty, 51 who located here from Kentucky only three weeks ago, died of pneumonia Tuesday afternoon at this residence at 929 Meigs Avenue. He was to be removed to the hospital for treatment but died before the transfer could be made. Mr. Beatty was born May 19, 1871 at Irvington, KY. He was accompanied here by his wife Mrs. Wilda Beatty and seven children but the family was increased by the birth of another child since the arrival of the family. Mr. Beatty worked one day at the carworks before he was taken ill. The funeral will be held at the residence at 2 Thursday, conducted by the Rev. F. M. Tolbert pastor of the First Baptist Church. Interment will be at the Walnut Ridge Cemetery.

(Note: Some information in this article concerning a child born after they arrived in Jeffersonville evidently is incorrect. Their youngest child Franklin Dudley Beatty was born May 20, 1922 in Breckinridge County, Kentucky, Volume 55, Certificate 27117.)
