Hospital attachés said last night slight improvement was noted in the condition of Mrs. Mary Jane Lee. who was admitted yesterday morning suffering from severe self inflicted wounds in the throat. Mrs. Lee was reported in a critical condition when she was brought to the hospital. Mrs. Lee, who is 75-years of age, resides on the Ninety-Six road about five miles west of the city. She was found in her room yesterday morning by her son, Ernest, who, with his family, resides with her. Mr. Lee said he left the home shortly before 8 o'clock to bring his wife to the city where she is employed. Upon returning he found his mother had inflicted the wounds in her throat and he rushed her to the hospital here immediately.
