Ellinwood – Henry Schartz 79, longtime resident of the Ellinwood district, died Monday night at the district hospital. He was a retired farmer and had lived east of Ellinwood until 1940. Services will be held at 9:30 am Thursday from St. Joseph's Cathalic Church with Rt. Rev Msgr. J Steines Officitating and burial in the Ellinwood cemetery. Rosaries will be said a 3 pm both Tuesday and Wednesday at the Weber and Cook funeral home where arrangements are being made. Survivors include the widow Katherine, 203 West Second, two daughters, Mrs Leon Roth of Ellinwood, Mrs Walter Kummer of 913 Holland, Great Bend and seven grandchildren.
