Eugene Cady was married to Alice (Hoffman) Cady. They had a son Clarence who died at the age of 2 years old. At the time of little Clarence's death, in 1883, he was buried at Lakewood Cemetery. In 1915, when Eugene died, the grave was opened, the child's casket was then placed on top of the father's and they were buried in the same grave. Eugene and Clarence share the same gravestone.

NOTE: Eugene may have married again after Alice's death. In the Akron Directories, I found the following listings:
1920
Mrs. Ione Cady, (widow of Eugene), home - 221 Spicer St.
1930
Mrs. Ione L. Cady, (widow of Eugene), home - 8 Kirkwood Ave.
However, in Eugene's listings, there is no wife listed.
