Mary Dolores (West) Mazurik, born December 2, 1928, passed to Eternal Life on Sunday, June 27, 2010. Raised in Chicago with her brother, David (deceased), she attended Our Lady of Peace Grammar School, Aquinas High School, Chicago Teachers College and Loyola University where she received her Master's in Education. She made a pilgrimage to Rome in 1950, taught art in Chicago Public Schools and then met Carl Mazurik (now deceased) to whom she was married for 50 years. They raised five children, all born in Southern California, and then brought up in the hills of Rathdrum, Idaho. Sister Mary Imelda, CMRI, Sister Mary Eucharista, SMMC, David and his wife Judy, Mark and his wife Elizabeth and Anne Marie King and her husband Keith. Dolores and Carl also have twelve grandchildren. Dolores developed and operated Mount Saint Michaels' extensive library for over ten years. She devoted herself to community service at various times at DSHS, CPS, Skyview Elementary and Saint Michael's Academy. Involved in the interests of education, literacy, nature conservation and prayer, Dolores was most concerned about living her Catholic Faith.
