From The Englewood Weekly bulletin of Englewood Christian Church, South Stewart Avenue, Chicago, where Bessie was active and where she worked for many years: "At 12:20 AM, Monday morning, April 25th, [1955] Bessie Stickell slipped across the boundary dividing time from eternity. Peacefully and painlessly she was gathered into the Father's arms. Her labors on earth are finished and her new tasks in heaven begun.
Few lives in the acquaintance of this writer have been so marked by unqualified goodness as was Bessie Stickell's. She won the quick respect and lasting affection of all who knew her. Keen of mind, even of temper, broad in her sympathies, she was a remarkable person, Christian in every respect."
Funeral services were held Wednesday, April 27th, at the Englewood Christian Church at 1:00 PM..
