Wesley Truitt was born and raised in Clarke Co., AL. He was the only surviving son of Elisha and Susan Truitt. Most of his life he worker as a farmer. He married Sara Hutchinson on December 2, 1875 In Bedsole, Al. His sister Cebelle was the witness to the marriage.
After the death of his wife Sarah in 1915. He married Sally Hutto. She outlived him. He died in his log cabin home south of Thomasville at the age of 92.
