John W. Moore, age 78, died a few minutes after he was admitted to a local hospital Dec. 21st. He had been ill for several weeks. He was employed at Raven Coal Mines before he became ill. His wife preceded him in death nine months ago. He made his home with his son Edd Moore. The following children survive: Edd Moore, Mrs. Jess Asbury of Richlands, Frank Moore, Grundy, W. A. Moore, Williamson, W. Va., Mrs. Etta Fox, Hartwell, W. Va., Crockett Moore, Newhall, W. Va., One brother, Crockett Moore,Richlands, also survives.
Funeral services were held at Layman's Chapel Sunday at 2 p.m. Rev. Perry Smith was in charge. Pallbearers and flower bearers were neighbors and friends of the deceased. Burial in Hankins cemetery. Richlands Funeral Home directed.
