Kentucky Marriages Johnson County, KY (1843 to 1860)
LEMASTER, Michal PENNINGTON, Levi 21-JAN-1858

SUGGESTED EDIT FROM FAG CONTRIBUTOR, JANE LAWRY: "Mycha Pennington is enumerated with her family in the 1900 Riverton, Greenup County, Kentucky census record on page 15. Her death apparently occurred sometime between 1900-1910."

There are many spellings for her name: Micha, Mycha, Michy, Micah, Mychal, Marchie. We did not find birth records for her, however we did find a marriage record, showing her at age 16. This record also give county of birth. The 1860 census tracks on age. The 1870 Census says 28 (may not have yet had her birthday) . The 1880 Census says 37. The 1900 census gives birth month as jun 1840. These dates seem to be in conflict. Her first child is sometimes listed as Joh H. or John W. , but we feel sure his middle name is Anderson. We got the names of her children from the census lists (birth records are not complete). Two daughters died in 1878. We obtained some of the children's marriage information. We do not know when the family left Johnson Co., but in the 1900 KY soundex they are in Greenup Co., living next door to sons John and Albert, with 9 of 11 children living, and having been married 43 years (looks like it should have been 42). Micha's parents both born in KY. We do not know when Micha died, because her stone apparantly does not have dates or they can not be read. Listing in Greenup Co. cemetery records, Vol 2, gives no dates of birth and death for Micha. She is buried in Melvin cemetery, Greenup Co., KY. Her husband is listed as widower in the 1910 Greenup Co. KY census. ( https://janetbeast.tribalpages.com/tribe/browse?userid=janetbeast&view=0&pid=13726&ver=662#moreinfo_ )
