Son of Frank and Gertrude Seiberling. He was known as Frederick or Fred. Husband of Henrietta McBrayer (Buckler) Seiberling. They had a son, John Frederick Jr. born in 1918 at Stan Hywet Hall, the family's Akron estate. Veteran of WWI, he enlisted in the U.S. Army at Akron on Nov. 15, 1915 and the age of 27. John's father, Franklin, was co-founder of Goodyear Tire & Rubber Co. and the Seiberling Rubber Co.
