Terry was born in North Adams in the State of Massachusetts, is 23 years of age, 5 feet 6 inches high, light complexion, blue eyes, light hair, and by occupation when enrolled a tinner.
He married first Lydia Blanchard, born July 4, 1842 in Whitingham, Vermont. She died October 1, 1878.
Children with Lydia Blanchard were: James Lincoln Terry, Thomas Edmond Terry, Isaac Elmer Terry, Lydia May Terry and Sarah Frances Terry.
He married second Lunar B. Nutting born January 7, 1839 at Prescott, Mass. She died March 27, 1908
Adopted son with Lunar Nutting: Frederick Egleston Terry.
James T. Terry was a stone mason and Evangelical Adventist preacher.
Mr. Terry lived with his son, Isaac Elmer Terry and his family in his later years.
