John Bruce, Sr. is believed to be the son of John Bruce and Margaret Jones Bruce. He had, at least, one sibling.

John Bruce, Sr. married Elizabeth Clay on June 28, 1775 in Charlotte County, Virginia. They had sixteen children.

John Bruce, Sr. was a Revolutionary War Patriot. He was a Sergeant in the Virginia Continental Army having served in Captain William Smith's Company of Col. Daniel Morgan's Virginia Regiment. He fought at Trenton and Valley Forge where he was wounded.

John Bruce, Sr. was my 6great-grandfather.
