Mrs. Mary C. Griffin Taylor was born near Marshall, Searcy county, Ark., March 21, 1880. The initial "C" stands for "California" and she likes her namesake state but has lived there only one year. She and Mr. Taylor were married in 1903 and are parents of six children, four of whom are living. The Taylors came to the Carnegie area in 1927 and later lived in the Eakly community. She has made her home in Carnegie the past several years. Her son, Elmer, is in the irrigation business at Eakly.

Service Held For Pioneer
Funeral services for Mrs. Mary C. Taylor, 98, longtime Carnegie area resident, were at 2 p.m. Wednesday at the Church of the Nazarene, with Rev. Bob Williams, pastor, officiating. Burial was in the Carnegie Cemetery under the direction of Pitcher Funeral Home.
Mrs. Taylor died November 13 at the Carnegie Nursing Home.
Mrs. Taylor was born on March 21, 1879, in Arkansas, but had made her home in Caddo county the past 50 years. She had made her home in the nursing home the past five years.
Her husband, W.H. Taylor, died in 1957.
Survivors include one daughter, Mrs. Herman Reynolds of Carnegie; one son, Elmer Taylor of Eakly; one sister, Mrs. Myrtle Barnes of Yuba City, Calif.; five grandchildren, ten great grandchildren, and three great-great-grandchildren.
