ANDERSON, Homer M. 85, of Dayton, passed away Monday June 28, 2010. He was born in Jackson County, Tennessee on July 18, 1924 to Frank & Sally (Carlile) Anderson. Homer proudly served in the U.S. Navy during WWII, aboard the USS Piedmont in the South Pacific. He was a retired landscape supervisor, having worked for Siebenthalers for more than 40 years. Preceded in death by his parents along with 3 sisters and a brother. Survived by his beloved wife of 63 years, Olene (Upchurch) Anderson; daughter, Charlene Stonerock; 3 sons & daughters-in-law, Jack Anderson, Jim & Susan Anderson, Dan & Susie Anderson; 4 granddaughters & 6 great grandchildren; sister & brother-in-law, Ova & James Lee; brother & sister-in-law, Louis & Stella Anderson; numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives & friends. Funeral service 10 a.m. Friday, July 2, 2010, at the GEORGE C. MARTIN FUNERAL HOME, "North Dayton Chapel," 5040 Frederick Pike at Needmore Road. Mr. Terry Townsend, Minister, officiating. Interment Forest Hills Memorial Gardens, Tipp City. Homers family will receive friends 5-7 p.m. Thursday at the George C. Martin Funeral Home. If desired, memorials may be made to the Dayton V.A. Medical Center Hospice Unit, 4100 W. Third St., Dayton, OH 45428 or VITAS Hospice, 3055 Kettering Blvd., Kettering, OH 45439, in recognition of their exceptional care of Homer.
