Gilmore Ray Flautt, 63, one of the best-known realtors in the county, died at the Cole Nursing Home at Braddock Heights after a long illness.
As a boy, Mr. Flautt was a Frederick News carrier, and later entered the well-known old North Market Street establishment of Lowenstein and Wertheimer, where he was a salesman for a number of years.
He then entered the real estate business and, starting virtually from scratch, became one of the leading realtors of this area.
The firm was known as Gilmore R. Flautt, and his son, Gilmore R. Flautt Jr., had been associated in business with him for the past 14 years.
Mr. Flautt was a member of the Evangelical Reformed church and the Men's Bible Class of the Sunday School.
He was vice-president and a director of the Fidelity Building and Loan Association of this city.
Funeral services to be held for Mr. Flautt at the late residence on Rockwell Terrace, Frederick, with the Rev. Paul L. Althouse, pastor of the Evangelical Reformed church, and the Rev. Dr. J. Franklin Haas, pastor of Calvary Methodist church, officiating.
Casket bearers were: Ernest Helfenstein Jr., Philip Wertheimer, James H. Cramer, Fred A. Oberlander, Benjamin B. Rosenstock and William T. Delaplaine. Interment in Mount Olivet cemetery, with C.E. Cline & Son, funeral directors.
