Bill and his Dad, John HUNT, were killed in a car wreck in Pulaski, TN while on a hunting trip. Sunny was driving and their car was hit by a drunken hit and run driver.

Sunny and Bill's wives and children were in the car behind them and saw the wreck. The driver was never caught.

Bill's sister, Dorothy Hunt Hope, had just died of tuberculous on November 30, 1946.
