He was a salesman for Hills Parts in Ball Ground, Georgia, and a member of thge Booneville National Guard for 14 years. He graduated from Booneville High School in 1954.
A funeral service was held at 10 a.m., Friday, 01 DEC 2000, at First Baptist Church in Booneville with burial at Rest Haven Memorial Park Cemetery in Russellville, Arkansas, under the direction of Roberts Funeral Home of Booneville.
He is survived by his wife, Deeann Ward, of the home; two daughters, Elizabeth Ward, from Burbank, California, and Margaret (Ward) Ritchie, from Zelienople, Pennsylvania; one son, Van Ward, from Booneville, Arkansas; one step-daughter, Sherry Mayo, from Van Buren, Arkansas; three step-sons, Jimmy Yancy, Jack Yancy and John Yancy, all from Van Buren, Arkansas; two sisters, Carolyn Ward from Greenwood, Arkansas, and Ann Fleckenstine, from Little Rock, Arkansas; two brothers, Eddie Ward, from Rogers, Arkansas, and Donnie Ward, from Little Rock, Arkansas; seven granddaughters and four grandsons.
Pallbearers were Jimmy Jay Bridges, Jason Ward, Jeffrey Ward, Jay Bridges, Doug Bice and Justin McLaughlin. Honorary pallbearers were the Bush Hollow Dear Camp, the Middle Creek Home Econimics Club and Russellville, Arkansas, friends.
