WILLIAM FARNER DIED THIS MORNING AT POOR FARM

Poor old William Farner ended his life this morning at the poor house. He had been suffering from cancer of the stomach. His age was 74 years, was born in Switzerland, and had lived in Berne for about 35 years. He was at one time a student in a theological seminary in Basel, Switzerland, and intended to become a missionary, but drink had wrecked his life.
His remains will very likely be brought here for burial.

The remains of William Farner were brought here Wednesday evening and a funeral was held yesterday at the Evangelical church. Rev. H. K??emann, of the Reformed Church preached the sermon. Deceased did not commit suicide, as some interpreted the item in Wednesday's Witness, but died of cancer of the stomach as was stated. He was born near Stuttgart, Wuertemberg, Germany, instead of Switzerland.
