Service: 10 a.m. Thursday, June 11, at Coffman Funeral Home in Harrison, with burial at Maplewood Cemetery; Visitation: 5-7 p.m. Wednesday, June 10, at the funeral home.

Edith Kimes, of Harrison, passed from this life on Saturday, June 6 (2015) at The Pat and Willard Walker Hospice House of Fayetteville. She was 71 years old.

Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Wednesday, June 10, at Coffman Funeral Home in Harrison. Funeral service will be at 10 a.m. Thursday, June 11, at Coffman Funeral Home.

Burial will be in Maplewood Cemetery. Pallbearers are Andrew Hendrix, Earl Wayne Hendrix, Jim Kimes, Randy Kimes, Harold Hendrix and Tommy Hunt. Honorary pallbearers are Kent Kimes, Clay Lair, M.F. Cash, Jim Hauer, James Criner, Doyle Jr. Hendrix and Walker Deakins.

The daughter of Belford Hendrix and Verlie Parker was born on Aug. 21, 1943 in Eula. Edith worked for Levi Strauss and was the co-owner of rental properties throughout the Harrison area. She loved trail riding with her family and was a past member of the Fox Trotters Association.

She was preceded in death by her father, Belford Hendrix; her husband of 30 years, Lelon Kimes; and two brothers, Doyle Hendrix and Dale Hendrix.

Survivors include two sons, Curtis Lelon Kimes, of Clemore, Oklahoma, and Abe Lewis Kimes, of Harrison; two daughters, Karen Kay Cox and her husband, Tony Cox, of Bruno-Pyatt, and Renita Bernell Trumbo and husband, Sean Trumbo, of Fayetteville; four grandchildren, Crystal Hall, Tanna Danisevich, Alexa Estrella and Lillian Clark; three brothers, Daryl Hendrix, J.W. Hendrix and Eudioce Hendrix; two sisters, Lucy Reddell and Deniece Honeycutt; and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
